There is a picture somewhere in the gallery of cream cheese mints. I posted that I loved how these looked and had never heard of cream cheese mints. She wrote back she used something like play dough but NOT fondant. I can't find the post now to ask what exactly she used. Does anyone have any ideas what this "dough" could be? I would love to make some for work but I need to know what she used. Help! icon_surprised.gif

I've got "The Ultimate Candy Book" by Bruce Weinstein, which contains a recipe for cream cheese mints. Here's a link that contains the recipe:

Hope that helps! (It sounds soooo good.)

QUILLS, Thanks so much. I checked out the site and those sound like probably what she made. I was thinking it was probably some kind of confection that had powdered sugar in it. I'll try these and see, they sound yummy. Wonder if they will taste similar to those pastel soft dinner mints yu can usually pick up at restaurants, lol. Thanks again thumbs_up.gif

Secret Ingredient Cream Cheese Mints

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
2 Tbsp. half and half
1/4 c. soft butter
1 pkg. (15 oz.) white creamy frosting mix
1 tsp peppermint extract
Food coloring, as desired
Combine cream cheese, half and half and butter
in a heavy bottomed saucepan. Stir over low heat
until cheese mixture is soft, creamy and butter is
melted. Blend in frosting mixing well. Add
peppermint extract and food coloring. Divide to
make several colors. Roll into balls or drop by
teaspoon onto waxed paper. Press with a fork or
stamp with design if desired. Let stand,
uncovered, at room temperature until firm and
outside is dry. The inside should still be creamy.
Makes about 8 dozen.

Cream Cheese Mints

8 oz. cream cheese
2 pounds powdered sugar
1/8 tsp flavoring
food color
Mix all ingredients and knead until creamy and smooth. Roll into tiny balls,
dust with fine granulated sugar and press into rubber or plastic molds.
Immediately remove from mold and place on wax paper. Allow to dry.

Hope you find the ones you like. I do have others WITHOUT cream cheese, if you would be interested in those...
