I just made some for the first time last night. I made a half batch of mmf and used around 2 oz. of chocolate that I melted and added while the mmf was mixing. All I had was some Dove milk chocolates and they still worked great. I didn't really measure but I did add a few teaspoons of cocoa powder hoping to get it a darker brown color. My mmf turned out a lot lighter brown than I would have liked but it is probably from using milk chocolate. It is great, it tastes like tootsie rolls!!! Sorry I'm not much help with exact measurments.

Hi!

You can also use cocoa. Replace it for a part of the sugar and knead it in.
I did this for my Enchanted tree.

Another tip to make it darker: use Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder. It makes it a nice brown. I used it on the cake in my gallery that is the "blue & brown cake for fun".

You can also add some brown color gel, this is how I get my chocolate buttercream dark.

I added melted unsweetened chocolate to my MMF. The flavor was great since the MMF is already pretty sweet and it produced a nice dark color.
