Adding Flavoring To Fondant...does It Help?

I was reading some articles online tonight and it was stated to use butter, vanilla or ameretto flavoring in the store bought fondant. Has anyone done this and does it help? Thank you!

I've added strawberry extract to fondant. It did not make it taste like strawberries. It sweetened it slightly, but it really was not that noticeable.
