Any Royal Icing Recipes That Dont Call For Glycerin?
Baking By newbiecakemaker Updated 6 May 2005 , 6:06pm by m0use
The recipe I have calls for it and all I could find at the drugstore was glycerin that says "for external use only" Do you still use that, but its just in small enough amounts that it doesnt hurt or what? can someone help me out? Thanks!
I think you were looking at the wrong type of glycerin. There is an edible one too. You can find it in the cake decorating isle at Michael's. I just bought some for making gum paste flowers. I found that it really smells though, enough so that I wouldn't even want to eat the flowers.
Hope that helps.

You can leave the glycerin out if you want to. I never use it in my royal. You really only need it if you want the royal to be shiny.
