I just made a batch. I"m not quite sure what to think. I guess I won't know until I re-whip it and use it on Saturday. It's really really smooth, almost slippery. Plus, I don't think it whipped up as much as it should have, even after like 15 minutes (she says 10-20 until it doubles).
I really wanted something that wasn't overly sweet. I hate the shortening on teh teeth taste and this definiately has some of that. Not that my 4 year old cared. LOL.
Anyway, I'm going to do the BC from here with all butter and see how I like that. Maybe I'll combine them when I do the cake. Would that be bad?

I have made the icing you are talking about. It is very smooth and I thought not too sweet. I am not sure about it still. Mine came out very thin (of course, next time I will just add more sugar to see how I like it). I am used to using a thicker buttercream than this one was.

I've tried it and it is less sweet but I found it also on the thin side. I had to keep one bad in the fridge to keep it cold so I could switch bags when the frosting got to soft to use for decorations due to getting warm.

I have also used it. I think it is yummy, but really hard to work with. It is very soft and hard to get smooth - plus, piping is tough too.
