Yes, I agree that if your in the middle of making a cake or decorating... & you get in a bind then post a quick question. I agree w/ what Ladycakes said. Title your topic the right way. How hard is that? I'm sure I have done it the wrong way too...

I am a cheerful giver~ icon_lol.gif I have to be to be helping others. I've made a lot of friends on CC & am so thankful for all of them. Especially thankful for Carol Ann, Jscakes & Janicecakes~

Someone made it sound like I was scarying people away from making posts. That's silly. Everyone has opinions & I was just giving mine. I would not attentially hurt someones feelings or scare them.

I guess I opened a can of worms. Sorry ya'll. Lets move on~



I hope you dont think I was the one that said or suggested that your going to scare people away I was also just voicing my opinions on this matter and things that I have learned and heard over the years about this topic cause let me tell ya its not just on CC that this topic is posted its on most sites that people dont understand why things are not searched out... I dont want you to think that I am argueing either.

That is what is so great about these sites is there is NO right answer to anything just many opinions...

My feeling is that they have gotten tired of the same questions that they've answered many times before, so they probably drop out for a while, or drop out completely, because they can't take it any more!

Some of the questions are so dense! For instance, the mixer questions, any day now I expect to see this: "I've finally got my new (any kind) mixer, does anybody know how to turn it on?" I mean, we have been over this mixer subject at least three or four times in the 6 or 7 weeks I've been on the site. After so long a time it is enough to drive anybody away!

None of us have to be here, there are other places to go for those answers we need, but this is the best place, and we (the membership) has to work to keep it the best place, and I don't think having the membership "turnover" ever few weeks or months is going to do that.

not matter what site you go to your going to get these repeat questions... its a shame that people feel that they have to leave a site because others may not be comuter smart and able to search for answers or what ever the deal may be leaving a site because questions or answers are lame... YOU have to remember this is a cake site there is going to be repeat questions from new people all of the time...


YOU Have to remember most people are not pros at cake decorating and are learning at one time we were learning too...


I just think its sad that someone'(s) can get so upset about repeat questions that is what this site is for to help others. Like I said if you were to come to a new site you would have tons or messages to read and get caught up on should it take you 3 weeks to read if not longer before you can post and ask for help because someone may have all ready asked the questions??? NO.... its a shame this site is not even a year old and people feel this way...




I dont know TC I think I was the one maybe I was not .. LOL .. Who knows any more ..

I was the one who said that it sometimes takes a new person a lot of courage to finally post a question. I am a new person! (and it did take me a while to post something) Had I read this first post - it would've taken me quite a bit longer, or I may not have ever posted......

The internet is a wonderful thing - and it can be overwhelming to some. I am still reading through all of the "old" stuff trying to absorb as much info and take as many notes as I can. There is GREAT information here, and I hope that all of you "veterans" of cake decorating will keep it in the backs of your mind of what it was like when you were new and needed to figure out something. We appreciate your help, and we are sorry if we do annoy you sometimes. Thank you to those who take the time to keep answering the questions that have been asked over and over. Something that may seem simple or silly to one person may be a big deal to the person who posted it. (again this is MY opinion.)

YOU have to remember that this is a cake site, and if you want people to keep coming here for information and help, YOU can't have them all being bored to death with the same stuff over and over!

Like You, I read for quite some time before I ventured into posting even a comment, much less a question. If I were reading this as a newbie I might wait longer to post, and when I did I'd try very hard to word it so that it made sense and wasn't just something to get my name in print and show off my new avatar!

We ALL appreciate the ones who answer our questions day in and day out, who give us that help when we really need it, nobody is saying they shouldn't do that or that we don't appreciate them.
I just believe that each person should try to be logical and use their heads when they ask a question or give an opinion.

Guess that's enough said. Thank you all. Bye now.

I think it might help anyone whose become frustrated to try and see each post as an individual instead of just a question/comment/post. Teaching must have gotten me used to repetition...it's pretty much the same thing over and over again year after year and that's okay. Here's to hoping CC will always be here and if it is there will always be repeat questions/posts.
