I have to do another flip flop cake and this time am putting lime green flowers (brush embroidery technique) on one of the flip flops and I cannot find the icing color chart anywhere. I don't know if it was posted here or on Wilton's forum. Do you know off the top of your head? Thanks in advance. I'll be up late tonight make this cake (Thursday).

P.S. Is that the same as Chartreuse 5 Lemon Yellow + 1 Leaf Green ?? I found the color chart in recipes here and hope that is the same as lime green(?)

Chartreuse is not quite as bright as lime green but I think it would work for what you're wanting to do.

I just made it with 3 parts lemon yellow and one part leaf green and it turned out perfect for what i need. Thanks so much for your quick reply. it's almost 10pm now and i'm almost completed. it's the first time I am doing brush embroidery for a customer's cake. I will post when I can.

The way I made it was just a very very small amount of green...and then a touch of yellow....

Thanks for your tips. I made this last night and glad to have it over with. It was fun making it. It's my 2nd time making the flip flop cake (I will post in galleries too) and think the 2nd one came out better. I'll try to add it here also.

It's called brush embroidery technique. If you look in the middle of any Wilton cake decorating yearbooks (on pg.118 in 2004's) some decorating techniques. You draw a flower with tip 2 or 3 then while icing is still wet use a little brush (clean water color brush) and brush out the lines with a damp brush dipping it in the water each time before you stroke doaway from edge & pull the icing out . It makes it look like embroidery. icon_lol.gif
I just traced my feet for a pattern and cut out the cake using a 9x13 cake pan.
