Do I have to make this the night before I need it or can I use it the same day I make it? The recipies says to let it rest overnight, but I was wondering if any of you have just used it right away with good results.
TIA!

I've also used it shortly after making it. Not sure but i felt like it was better to work with. Plus i've noticed (at least with me) that after it rests over night, no matter how well I wrap it up, it gets a little dry and requires alot of kneading to get it soft again.

I used the last batch I made immediately and found it easier to work with than when I let it rest. It was perfectly soft and play-doh like. The only thing I noticed was that I really had to make sure my silpat was greased with crisco well.

Well I'll be the fly in the ointment here icon_wink.gif, I have used mine right away, but I prefer to let it rest overnight because it tightens up and "sets" as it were. A little kneading the next day and we're good to go. I like end result much better when it rests. I guess it's just a personal preference! icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

Wow, I am due in 4 1/2 weeks and debating to take on 3 cakes up to a week before and 3 in Mid June. I though I was the only crazy one thinking this way. icon_lol.gificon_smile.gif

Good Luck with everything. thumbs_up.gif

I have found that you don't HAVE to but it is easier to work with when you do.

Good luck with the baby!

Don't be sorry - asking questions is how we all learn. I asked the same one just a couple of weeks ago!

It's MarshMallow Fondant, homemade. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to since so many people on this site use it all the time...it must be good.

Good luck!

There are several recipes for Marshmallow Fondant in the recipe section under fondant here on CC. If I have the extra time, I'll let mine rest atleast for a few hours, however I have used it right after making it and it was fine!
