Did it crack when you moved it....or just sitting? I have had a few cakes crack when trying to move them....but that is usually caused by a weak cake board. Since I've started using the foamcore board, I don't have that problem anymore. Otherwise, I really don't know what else would cause the buttercream to crack. uneven cake maybe? At any rate, this will give you a bump.

Its usually because of what you had it on. I put all my cakes on plywood boards and the bc doenst crack. Sandy
