Another silly "newbie" question. But I have my cookies baked and need to run to the store to get stuff to make the frosting. I will need these for tomorrow (I always wait till the LAST minute). I have the recipe for Toba Garrett's Glace icing. Will this frosting dry by tomorrow afternoon, if I get them frosted by 6 PM or so. Does this type of frosting need any icing outline or can I just flood it onto the cookies ??

I was hoping for a frosting that would not get quite as hard as royal, but hard enough that I could put in cellobags for bt cookie bouquets.

Sorry for all the questions. But any ideas you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS SO MUCH !! icon_razz.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

I lke Alice's cookie icing. It is soft when you bite into it, but you can also stack the cookies without smashing them. And it's YUMMY! I used to outline, but last time I made cookies I just flooded them and they looked more professional. Be careful not to add too much water, though, or they don't dry properly.

I've worked with toba's icing and it depends on the temp and humidity but...it should be dry by tomorrow afternoon...

Well, I checked out that recipe. Seems pretty easy. But where can I get meringue powder ?? Maybe my local craft store that carries Wilton products ?? Ugh, why do I wait until the last minute !!! icon_cry.gif

Our local Walmart has a Wilton section and they carry meringue powder and its a dollar cheaper than our Meijers...
