What would be a good filling for a butter pecan cake? I was thinking of icing it with almond flavored buttercream. What do you think?
Thanks!

You could use dulce de leche to flavor the buttercream. You buy it in the grocery store..
Good luck

I like a coconut filling or coconut flavored icing with this cake, caramel is also good, or the boiled german cake icing.

In a magazine I have there is a recipe for a butter pecan cake frosting which was basically a regular bc with the pecans that had been toasted in butter added in. I can type it if you are still looking.

I recently made a butter pecan cake and used a real buttercream icing. It went really well with the cake and the two flavours were delicious together.

Last time I made it I used the same icing I would for a German chocolate cake to fill the cake, then used almond flavored buttercream for icing. It was yummy!
