hello all. need some quick help. this is my first attempt at cookies. after much research and soul searching, i decide to use the marshmallow fondant to ice my cookies. i decorated with antonia74's modified royal. so here is my delima. i used ck products imitation vanilla mixed with a tad bit of water to put my luster dust on. my husband was going to pick up some vodka for me to use but forgot it and i remembered reading on the forum that people have used vanilla before. so, it seems like this particular brand/version is oil based because it is not evaporating like i expected it to. did i do this wrong and if so is there any hope in saving these cookies? they are for my friend's daughters's 4yr birthday party. cinderella theme. any help, advice or critisism is much appreciated. ciao!

The vanilla will eventually dissapate but there might be a small oil residue.I have used lemon oil the same way and after a week or so it appears better.

did you leave the cookies out for a week? i was going to bag them. do you think that is a bad idea? thanks for the quick response, by the way.

Yes..I let them sit downstairs in my hubby's office since I did them in advance.I wouldn't bag them just yet...if you don't have to.Let them sit out for a few days to evaporate.

HTH!!

i cant seem to get the hang of using luster dust either. i just tried to apply some mixed with vodka and when it dried - the dust appeared granulated and lumpy. ruined my cookies. it's a good thing i only tried it on a few cookies.
