I'm planning on trying to make a cookie bouquet for mother's day and was wondering...

How do I store the cookies, and how do I keep them from going stale between now and Sunday ?

or am I worrying about something for nothing ?

and one other thing... can I bake them today and frost tomorrow ?

I think they will be fine. In fact, I've already delivered most of my Mother's Day cookie bouquets that people are giving as gifts on Mother's Day.

Here's what I did. I made the cookies on Sat and froze them right away. On Tuesday morning I took them out of the freezer and let them thaw until I got home from work (I left all containers sealed). Then at night I started decorating and continued decorating Wed night. On Thursday, I packaged each cookie in a bag and then wrapped the whole bouquet in wrap. And that's it. Between Tues and Wed. I kept them on a cookie sheet covered in foil.

So far today I've gotten rave reviews. So you should be fine.

Thank you so much Kay !!! That is easy enough, and reasuring to know that I can put them into the freezer. I might just leave them out (in a container) since I plan on frosting tomorrow morning anyway, sounds like they will be ok.

I'm always a nervous wreck the first time I try something new.

Thanks for your help.

I've left the no fail sugar cookies with antonia's icing on them out in a ziploc bag for like almost two weeks.......(I know I'm gross right???) well......I was having a sugar attack and didn't have anything else in the house.....so I ate one......and it was sooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!! Tasted great!!!! Actually I ate more than one.....they were delicious! Tasted just as good as when they were first made.........I think the sugar literally preserves them or something...

Thanks ! Hadn't thought of baggies, the gallon size must be large enough for the cookies & sticks to fit. Don't think I'm going to mess with it this time since I'll be giving them away tomorrow. But for the future this is good to know.
