Hi all,

I am making a choclate cake with orange essence (jaffa cake) when I make my cakes I usually use water, but have been reading lately that milk is better as it keeps the cake moist. I would like to try this with this cake but am hesitant because of the orange essence that I will be putting in. Has any one every tried this type of cake with milk and if so what has the outcome been like. Any help would be appreciated as I will be baking the cake this weekend for a christening.

Thanks All

Anna

I cant say I have made one, but PM Elin, and see what she says... but I dont see that there be a problem with using milk with the orange essence.. its going in the cake right, not the icing? I would think the cake would be fine (no curdling) but perhaps in the icing it would change the look...I dont know though...sorry I couldnt help more.
