Oh, Lord, I am just praying that I don't get addicted to cookie decorating as much as I am to cake decorating!!!

I have to say that I enjoyed very much making and decorating this cookies! They were for Teacher Appreciation Day!

I have to say that the feedback from teacher's were:

* Wow!
* You are so talented!
* Those cookies are VERY expensive if you were to buy them!
* You made those cookies? Oh, my!
* You did good!

They were not as fancy as the ones you would buy at Cookies By Design, but they were good enough to impress!

I used Antonia's famous cookie icing recipe and I LOVED it. And I don't like royal icing, but hers is divine!

THANK YOU, AGAIN, ANTONIA!

I am planning on making some cookies for my mom for mothers day. I hope they turn out like yours. I didn't plan far enough in advance to make some for teacher appreciation.
I loved that you did the 1+2 cute school theme

They look great Maria! I must warn you, from my own recent experience, that cookie making like this is EQUALLY addicting!! Next thing you know, you're spending hours looking at cookie cutters on the internet... LOL I have accumulated a whole list of sites from different threads on here.

Thanks!

No, actually I used the sucker sticks. I made it to the store on time to buy them. The dowels I had were not enough.

Thank you too, darandon.

Well, actually that's a red hard imprint on the cookie bags! icon_redface.gif They were some bags from Valentines that I didn't get to use and I had nothing else in the house so I used them.

They kinda got on the way of seeing the message on the cookies clearly, but oh, well! icon_rolleyes.gif

Maria,

Beware of those cookie sites. I personally have been making cookies forever, but with the trend spreading in the past year or so I'm getting busier with my cookies. My cookie cutter collection is up to about 600. That is not a typo. I'm an addict. Actually my girlfriend and I say I'm a cookie wh**re. All in good fun. I just baked around 300 cookies yesterday. I have to finish decorating tonight for delivery tomorrow here at work. Cookie bouquets for Mothers Day. Then of course Saturday I have to bake for my family cookie bouquets. And there are a lot of Mom's between my family and my inlaws. I'll sleep next week.

Thanks for the warning on the cookie sites. I don't like buying online very much. If I need more, I will go to Michaels or to a wholesale store close to me where I can get pretty much anything I need.

Thanks!

And WOW, 600 cookie cutters is something serious!!! I sure hope you have the storage for them! icon_biggrin.gif

I have a huge kitchen and hall closet, some in my laundry room, plus my computer room. I'm considering going into the spare bedroom, but I think my husband may have something to say about that. He already teases me and our daughter that we have literally taken over the entire house and he only gets the garage. I remind him he gets to watch TV in the living room (we watch cartoons on the big screen in the family room) and he has some closet space in our bedroom. He's a good sport and just laughs along.

I think your cookies look great. I am sure that you had some happy teachers knowing someone took the time to make those for them. I am new to cookie decorating too and just to warn you it is as addictive as cake decorating. You will look at everything now and figure out how to use it for cakes and cookies. Keep having fun and seeing what you can do.
