Has anyone had this problem with their cupcake cakes?

I tried this for the first time a few weeks ago...smoothed the icing over the top and it looked fine. Hours later, icing fell in the spaces in between the cupcakes. icon_sad.gif How do you prevent that from happening? I was made sure that the cupcakes were as close together as they could be.

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the icing wasn't thick/stiff enough. What do you think?

I agree with Lisa. Maybe the frosting was too thin? Did you put some frosting on the bottom of the cupcakes to keep them in place? Maybe someone else can answer this question better than I can.

your frosting might have been too think or your cupcakes were not close enough together. When I make them i make sure they are as close to each other as I can possibly get them.
