I've received an order for photo cookies for a Christening - from the BonJovi cookies I made. I'll be using sugar cookies with mmf and an edible image. The cookies will not be wrapped but rather displayed slightly stacked/overlapped. Has anyone ever had a problem with the mmf sticking to the other cookies? How long would you recommend them "drying" before allowing them to be stacked? Also - question on pricing. She's looking at approximately 3 dozen. The cookies will be about 3". I was searching the web for pricing but most of what I was was $3 a cookie. I was thinking more like $20 a dozen or $1/50 each? Do you think that's too much for that size cookie?

Thanks! Cookies are new to me.

Deb

oops! one more question. Do you put your fondant on while the cookie is still warm and let it melt in or wait until the cookie is cool to put the fondant on.

Thanks!

Price seems pretty low.

The MMF can be applied either way. If you wait for the cookie to cool you will need to use some liquid on the MMF to make it stick.

The MMF covered cookies can be stacked without sticking. I'd say if they stick the MMF was too stickey on it's own.

Thanks WendyB! What would you think was a fair price. No one around here sells these but most of what i've seen have been several $$$ per cookie.

Thanks again!

the best way I've found to place the MMF is to cut all the fondant pieces out before hand, place on cookie while still quite warm. Doing it after they're cooled works, too, but I like how the fondant molds to the warm cookie better.

Could you tell your customer that the cookies are priced at $3.00 everywhere else, but you can give them to her for $2.50? This way, she'll know she's getting a better price (and not paying shipping, either).

Thanks! I guess i'll need to talk to her and see what she is expecting to pay for something like this before I proceed. I was having a hard time with justifying anything over $20 per dozen but that sounds cheap after checking out the websites!

Thanks again!

I just posted a picture of these cookies. I will be delivering them this evening. I still haven't set a price. Any suggestions? 2 dozen sugar cookies with MMF and photo image. 2" image on approx 2 1/2" cookie. individually wrapped with ribbon and tag.

Thanks!
Debbie

I would charge at least 2.25 each considering the mmf, and the images... i like them they look great!

Just a warning, when I have stacked cookies with royal icing I ran into a problem of the cookie leaving marks on the ices (from the butter I suppose, kind of like a buttery item will do in a bag). It has only happened once, so I do not know if it was a fluke ... (the cookie was antoia's never fails recipe) They tasted great, but I did pull some of the more spotted ones)
