Flashing (used in roofing) is pretty thin. I think it is resistant to hold shape and am not a big fan of it. I went to a Home Depot (much larger hardware store) and bought a piece of thicker (and much better than flashing) piece of metal from the plumbing area. I am not sure what it was supposed to be used for or what it is called though, sorry! The workers at the store were not all that helpful... I went on a scavanger hunt and eventually found something that worked!
