Anyone else having this problem? Ever since CC changed the layout with the cake pics, they never (or hardly ever), open for me. I know it is not my computer because this is the only site I ever have trouble with and I have DSL. It is just getting so frustrating!!!

I know that Jackie and Heath are trying really hard to manage their resources (servers, etc.) but yeah, me too. I'd prefer the old layout if it means I could view/search for/comment on pictures.

Early morning and late at night....best times I've found to look at pics.

I prefer the old layout anyway.

I like the new layout and have found this change has not affected viewing photos for me. I too have DSL and It is the same as it was before the change; Easy to view photos early morning and late pm hours. The daytime volume of people all across the world trying to access these photos and this site causes the server to run slow. Causes the system to bog down. It takes a HUGE server to accomodate the amount of people CC has viewing its pages.
I am sure Heath and Jackie are doing as good as they can.
It is frustrating, I am with you and fully understand this. We just need to try and understand the other side of the coin........the one that involves the operations of CC.

i dont know what the old layout is, but i often get a blank white screen when im trying to view pics. i just hit refresh every time it says done until i get the picture. sometimes it takes awhile tho

Me too!! I am trying to upload my first photos and I have only had one go theough-- Very frustrating-- this is the only site where I have had problems-- very slow to open others photos as well-- and I have cable modem.

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one with these problems! It takes forever for a picture to open and often I get the "page cannot be displayed" if it goes on too long.

I have barely been able to view pics since the change also. I do like the change and I'm sure they will work out the kinks soon. Lets be patient I'm sure its a huge project for them.

I know - life can be so frustrating - HOWEVER - at this point this is a free site. How wonderful to have such a resource and a connection to others in our community for free! Give them time to work out the bugs! While you are waiting for the picture to come up - sit back and drink some tea or close your eyes and enjoy the quiet!

I really enjoy this site when I can....but I am extremely fustrated with how slow pic's open too.

Maybe the site needs to be upgraded or something.

I think they should limit the file size when uploading pics in the gallery just like uploading pics when posting in a topic. I noticed I can upload bigger pics in my gallery (1.5 MB etc) but am limited to so many pixels (up to 800 pixels) when uploading in the forum. Maybe this will help speed things up when file sizes are smaller? I'm not computer savvy but maybe someone can dawn some light on why it takes forever to load pics in the gallery. Thanks!

I thought they did limit the sizes you were allowed to upload in the galleries. (Not sure about the forums though.)

I have not noticed a difference. I found the photos to be slow regardless of the format. I do like the new format though.
I find it is easy to see the photos in the morning or late at night. No biggy.
I am more than happy to be inspired.

Thank god someone mentioned it i thought my comp was a POS it takes FOREVER and a day to get one picture open its very irritating !!

I just uploaded a photo. I got the message, server not available, but when I went into my photos it's there! Glad I didn't try it a second time.

I had the same problem with both. I would get bummed that I couldn't leave comments sometimes. But it wasn't until I needed to look for a cake that it really bummed me out.

I tried surfing the web for cake pics but I like the ones on CC.

What I do is tell myself it could be a lot worse, we could have trouble posting.
