Was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for the cream filling in a strawberries 'n' cream cake. I need something that will be stable enough to be used as the filling with the fresh strawberries, preferrably without shortening because I'm not a big fan. Thanks.

Recently I made a yellow cake with strawbeery cream filling. It was whiped heavy cream with unflavored gelatin added to make it more stable. Then mixed in fresh strawberries. I stored it in the fridge but they let it sit out for quit a few hours at the party and there were no problems.

i may try this weekend to mix some whipped cream with sweetened marscapone cheese to use with a strawberry cake. I don't know what proportions to use yet but I'd say add enough powdered sugar to the cheese to sweeten to taste, add maybe a teaspoon of vanilla and enough whipped cream to have a light texture. That's what I'm gonna do!!

Hey i just bought bavarian cream to go into a strawberry cake.... Do you think this would be good? DH doesn't think so. I figured this would be a great combo.

I would love to hear the opinions.... I have to do this cake tonight.
