OUTSTANDING WORK!

I've been making cakes for a couple years now and haven't even accomplished a cake at that level. You should be very proud!

Thank you all u are so nice.
The Idear for the cake was from a book by Debbie Brown . I love her books!!! I had been looking at for a while now and decided to try. What really inspired me to start cake decorating was seeing food networks birthday cake challege a few weeks ago.
Two make tom I baked 2 cakes in 2-cup bowls and even it out to make a circle. then with gray tinted foundant I covered the whole thing. I used white foundant made into 3 tear drops and made the mouth. and then layered on diffrent colors for the eyes and formed the nose. Add 2 more gray teardrops just above the white for the cheak. and a few extra flat peice for foundant (gray ) for the side of the face. The ears r all foudant that I molded out and let dry one a rolled up index card and added with royal frostening. The mallet is a 8 round cake that was cut into 4 circles using (get this I am pretty proud of this one) A no handle coffee travel mug. then layered on top of each other covered in white foundant. Then I added cuts into it to look like wood and made a water color using brown food coloring. And jerry is molded out of just foundant. for the floor on the cake tray I first covered it with black foundant lightly powdered with sugar then placed white foundant over it, and cut out the break in the "floor". Using a ruler I made light cuts to look like the wood flor again making small lines for wood grain and coloring with food coloring and water then for the nails in the wood I just used a Q-tip with straight yellow and made them.
You all r so nice here I look forward to doing more of my new craft and posting soon.
Thank you again,
Mary
