Hey,
Just wondering what is the best way to apply MMF after cookie is cooled. I really liked applying it right out of the oven but I am making cookies and don't have the fondant made. Does the MMF stick as well as when it's right out of the oven?
Thanks so much!!
I prefer to do it right out of the oven because it's faster but they still look really nice when added after the cookie has cooled. I just use a touch of water and make sure that I get around the edges so the fondant doesn't have any gaps. Some people use a simple syrup or corn syrup but I found water to work great and I didn't want to risk adding any more sweetness to the cookie.
If I've made my cookies ahead of time, I usually cut out the fondant shapes and let them rest of parchment paper for a bit so that they aren't so pliable when I go to place them on the cookie. This keeps it from stretching. If it did stretch a bit you could always use your rolling pin to even it out.
You could cut out your MMF shapes and put them in the fridge or freezer for a while so they're not as pliable.
I just had this same situation the other day and I made my cookies and then when the MMF was ready I just stuck my cookies back in the oven on like 200 for a few minutes. I used the NFSC recipe and it worked just fine. Just an idea that worked for me!
Hi Ladies:
I have baked my cookies and put the fondant right after they came out of the oven, I loved the way they turned out. But now my question is, how far in advance can I decorate my cookies with fondant? I am planning to decorate them with edible images over fondant.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I baked and decorated my Easter cookies 1 week in advance. They were fine. I read on cc some time ago that they can be kept longer, but not sure how long.
The cookies were wrapped in celophane treat bags and kept in an air tight container. No, they do not get hard.
