I have searched the forums and CC site. I want to make boxes made out of sugar. Does anyone on here make these?

I saw these beautiful little wedding favor sugar boxes on Sugar Rush this morning. The bottom of the box was made of sugar and the top was made with a sugar dough--which I assume was some sort of fondant. The boxes were filled with Jordan almonds. the lid and box bottom were tied together with a sheer ribbon.

Does anyone know where I can purchase candy pour molds? I have searched and found sites that carry close to what I want but the boxes have detail. I need PLAIN round, square and/or rectangle. Kitchen crafts has little boxes but they are not plain (which I think would be better to use when molding sugar.

I guess I could use something around home if it came down to it.

TIA

You could use ANYTHING square...The boxes are made by using water and sugar, pressing the mixture into (really anything) Use a piece of wax paper cut ,so that you can place it over the square, but leaving the outer-sides exposed. After sugar mixture sets, pull piece of wax paper off and the mixture will still be wet and you scoop out SOME sugar mixture ,hollowing out the center(the wax paper will prevent the mixture from drying, only the exposed sides will dry. The tops are usually made of fondant and Royal icing...

I make boxes out of sugar.

I seen them on Sugar Rush a year ago and thought they were so cute.
I made some Round Ones by pressing the sugar into a small bowl.
All you have to do is pack sugar firmly in what ever you are using to shape your box then turn out carefully onto a waxed paper lined baking tray. Let set for about 6hrs then carefully turn over in your hand and with a small spoon or scoop remove the wet sugar from the inside. be careful not to squeeze the box as you empty it or it will break. As you remove the wet sugar leave about a 1/4 in. thick wall. any thinner will be hard to handle and will break easily.

If your after a small sugar box, I use new glass votive candle holders with straight edges. They are the right size. The tops are cut to size out of the sugar paste. They are cute individual sizes. Very easy!
