My DD who is 8 and I are learning cake decorating together! This is her first cake she decorated by herself! She wanted to make a Topsy Turvy cake! (Mom just stacked them and as you can tell I am a beginner as well - my 1st topsy turvy too) You can see she wrote on the cake "Belle's 1st Cake"! CUTE! I know, I know, I am bias!

It is chocolate cake with buttercream filling and covered in MMF with MMF decorations.

She wanted me to post it on CC and see what the professionals thought!

Wow! You can tell her that it's better than almost all of the 8 & under ones that we saw at a cake show. Pretty impressive, especially for her first cake!

I think it's great that she actually put colour on the MMF decorations. It's says to me that she wants to put in the extra effort. Great job on her part!

She did a great job! My mom decorated cakes when I was growing up and that is where I learned the love of cake decorating.

She has always loved to do crafts so when I decided to try cake decorating she jumped right in! I have definite competition on my hands!
