I just have to vent for a second,
I'm decorating cookies for a lady's wedding reception tomorrow (she was married in cuba but is having a reception for the ppl that couldn't be there)

Anyway, she e-mailed me a few months back about doing cupcakes, then changed it to cookies. Well i didn't hear from her so i figured she didn't want them anymore but just didn't want to e-mail me and tell me herself.. so i just forgot about it.

Then the other day (wensday) she e-mails me saying she's been looking all over for my phone number but couldn't find it (why didn't she just e-mail me.. she obviously had that!).. and could i still do the cookies.

My son's been dealing with some potential health problems and he is only 5 months old so it's been hard on our family.. I told her this but agreed to still make the cookies (50)

so i started yesterday, baked them all and decorated most..
this morning a lot don't look as good as they did yesterday, some are smooshed and after finishing the rest of the cookies (had to make more icing today for them).. the orange color's are WAY different, one is a burnt orange like on the invite and the other (the ones from last night) are more of a vibrant orange, I thought i mixed them the same.. but obviously not icon_sad.gif

what do i do?.. the ones i just did look awsome, and then there's the ones from lastnight... I don't have the time to make more, and i don't have the $ to get more ingredients (she's paying me at the hall).

Can i try and scrape of the crappy looking parts and replace it

ahhhh I just want to scream right now!

I would just arrange them so the best ones are most obvious. By the time people get down to the bottom they wono't be to interested in appearance anyway. I hope everything works out, and I hope your little boy is ok.

I'm with Katydidz, sounds like you've got more important things to think about right now!! Plus, she gave you short notice. Good luck!!

maybe i'll stick them in the bottom of the box.

I think you are being too hard on yourself. I think they all look great and that is an honest opinion. I agree with the others to put the ones you don't like on the bottom; however, I think they all could go on top.

We are always harder on ourselves.

Hope you little boy is ok. icon_smile.gif

I think they look great, and they would have to be reeeeallly picky to even notice the difference. I like to think you have covered her colours by including all "Shades" of the orange!

All of those cookies look great and I agree with what someone else posted that she would have to be really picky to have a problem with those. I'll say a prayer for your little one and I hope everything turns out fine.
