These might sound stupid but I was just wondering: Can Devils Food Cake hold up to fondant and to being stacked? Also, if I want to make a yellow pound cake to stack also, will it hold up? I want to make it in a ten inch round instead of a tube pan, will this work? Any help is greatly appreciatedicon_smile.gif *The Rookie*

Crystal,
Yes, Devil's Food cake will hold up to fondant and being stacked just make sure you support the next tier with dowels or hidden pillars. You can do the strawberry filling, just be sure to pipe a good dam before filling, then you should not have an issue with it leaking. Just remember too, you should not refrigerate fondant. Good luck.

Kerri thanks so much! Question though, the filling recipe says that once I put it on the cake, that I should refrigerate it, but then the fondant cant be. Which should I listen to? Alot to think abouticon_smile.gif This is all so helpful,
