Does anybody have a recipe for a german chocolate cake? I looked and only found one on here. It called for German choc. I have never bought German choc. and don't know where to find it. Is it available in regular grocery stores?

I use the Cake Mix Doctor recipe. Here it is:

1 package German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 container (15 oz.) coconut pecan frosting
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs

Mix all ingredients together on low for 1 minute. Scrape sides of pan with a rubber spatula. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes more. Pour in greased pans and bake as pan directions indicate.

I have used this recipe quite a bit. I used it on the cake pictured in my gallery with the cookies around the side and black ribbon on it. Very moist and delicious. Good luck!

Gilson6,
I am definately going to try this recipe and after looking at the photo of the one you made I KNOW I am going to try it. That cake was gorgeous. Thanks for the recipe by the way.
