New Website format

I simply adore Cake Central and all the wonderful features that you make available to all us decorators....so please don't think I'm complaining....but I just wanted to point out that in the new format, all the photos are squished into squares...which make none of the thumbnails look interesting enough to click. Is there any way to go back to un-squished thumbnails?

Just a thought

I agree with you regarding the compressed pictures. It distorts them way to much.

However, I LOVE the new layout! It is much more user friendly and it really pops compared to the previous one! Great job Heath and Jackie!! If the pictures could be fixed it would be perfect!

I think it must display different depending on monitor settings because none of the thumbnails on the homepage are distorted on my screen.

In any case, I think once the gallery re-design is completed, we will have to issue some new instructions on how to best format your photos for upload because the entire new gallery design that we have been working on for over a month now, has this thumbnail system.

The photos look strange on my computer too. Glad others are seeing it that way and it's not just me.

On my laptop, which has a larger screen, the pics look ok. They are square shaped and once in awhile, I'll see one that looks "squished".... these tend to be the really tall pics that have been condensed to a square rather than rectangle. My upstairs computer has a small screen and the pics look a little 'different'.

In any regard, I vote again that I luv the new format! Having 6 instead of 4 "lastest posted pics" on the home page gives me more time to be able to view each one.

The pics just look wierd in the gallery, distorted, offcenter, squished is a good word. But when you click on them they are okay. the homepage with the popular photos and new photos look fine on my computer.

I didn't think this site could get any more addictive, but the new layout has done it! I can't stop clicking on the photos, I think I've added 40 new cakes to my favorites in the last couple of days! lol

I am seeing quite the reverse.
The previews of recently-added cakes that ran along the right side before would completely dissapear on my screens.
Now they preview perfectly.

On a mac with 17" or larger (at work) monitors...

I don't have a problem on either my laptop or other computer monitor.

I have seen so many beautiful cakes today that I would never have seen otherwise, so I love the popular cakes feature!!!!
