Elmo cookie questions

Thinking about making some Elmo cookies and wondering if there is a cookie cutter for his head or do I just wing it?

Also, is there any way to make him look furry on a cookie (I know on a cake, people use the grass tip to make fur)? Is there a way to use a cake decorating tip on a cookie? I'm thinking the cookie icing would be too thin but just wondering what everyone thought of the idea.

I looked in the galleries and there was only 1 Elmo cookie design. Any suggestions?

i saw elmo cutters on ebay a while ago. I actually bought a set of sesame street with elmo in it. (mine is a full body) They are selling just the elmo head.
I have practiced making the icing a bit thicker and trying with the star tip so I am sure you could try to make fur.

I think they sell the decorate a cookie kit that comes with an elmos head cutter in it....instead of the icing with the fur tip....what about using red sanding sugar over the icing??? Antonia has some chicks done this way and they look kinda furry...it's a really nice look too.

I made elmo cookies once (can't find the pic) but used football shape, and made small cookies for eyes, and put them on top to give it dimension. They turned out cute, and looked pretty good...I'll try to find a picture.

I have made some after i saw some cute ones at the american cookie company for my daughters 2nd birthday and they were just round cookies and grass tipped royal icing all along for fur and the round tip for eyes and a nose they had big bird, cookie monstor oscar .....I also think i read some where that if you add corn syrup to the royal icing it makes it shiny.....hope this helps

Yes, I used royal icing (wilton's recipe)and added just a tiny bit more powdered sugar (did not thin it) and I was able to make stars. It was very easy and came out cute!
