This is my first ever paid cake. I was told to do bees and I could do anything else I wanted. They had a lot of faith in me because this is only the fourth cake that I have ever created. It was also going to be seen by EVERYONE in my school. No pressure there!

I am going to be making a beehive cake soon but I don't want to go to the trouble of making those adorable little bees so does anyone know where I can buy some bees? They don't have to be edible. Mcshay- what kind of wire did you use to put them in the cake? Did you wrap the wire first?

I got the wonderful idea of suspending the bees and flowers from all the people here at CC.

Of course, I had to have my mother poke the wire through the bees because I was afraid to tear them up. I just handed them to her and walked away. Thak goodness for my mom or there would have been no bees on wire.

I got he wire from the Michael's floral department. I wrapped the wire around my finger to get the spiral effect. I could have used a pencil, but I didn't have any handy.

mjones17: You could try to a local cake shop or decorating store. I just decided to give making bees a try.
