I just tried my first batch of MM fondant and when I put in on the cake some spots are a little cracked. How can I smooth them out while on the cake? icon_cry.gif I have tried putting a hot spatula on and tried smoothing with the fondant smoother. What am I doing wrong? Please help....

icon_surprised.gif: I'm so sorry.... I am not sure how to help you here, but I wanted to make sure this got put on top of the forum subjects to see if someone can help you.... I know usually before you put it on something you can microwave it for a few seconds to make it pliable... but now that you have it on something I am not sure.... I wonder if you can "pinch" it together then use a hot spatula to smoothe it.... sorry I couldnt help.

I'm not sure it would work, I haven't done it myself, but possibly applying a warm, moist towel to the areas that are cracking for a few seconds,
then try the hot spatula and/or the fondant smoother.

Only other suggestion I might have would be to use a small cutter and cut those areas out, then replace them with new...maybe different colors to make a design in your fondant. Janice
