Hi everybody,

I'm a starting baker and I'm having fun, but, what I make is not very elegant icon_sad.gif ...
The cookies are nice and sweet, but the icing looks like big blobs....
I do mix the icing with water to make it thinner, but as I go, it gets thicker and sticky.
I don't have any tools yet and use plastic (ziploc)bags that I cut the tip out...
I also find it hard to color the icing right....what are your favorite colors?
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you very much!

Hi and Welcome to CC!

What kind of icing are you using?

Have you seen the decorated cookie tutorial (in the tutorial section) by Antonia74? It's wonderful! And, there is a great post by Cake_Princess about cookies, too. Hopefully those will help you!

I use americolor colors thhey are the best I have used, as for the icing.. which one are you using? Ise Antonia74s icing and it works well... also I used bottles for applying the icing .. they are alot easier than using bags.. I think your cookies are nice.. I like the sheep ones alot.

no problem.. just keep thinning it down with a few drops of water at a time.. it will come together ... I used it for the cookies in my photos
