Do the no-fail sugar cookies stay soft or are they crunchy?

They are more like a shortbread texture. Not chewy but definitely not crunchy (unless maybe rolled to thin). The texture reminds me of Pecan Sandies if you've ever had them.

Hope that helps.

Actually I think it depends on who's baking them. I always like mine a little underdone. I don't like a crunchy cookie at all{exept maybe an oreo}. I got some pre- baked cookies out of the freezer the other day and they were a little chewy, they were really good!

I like mine a little underdone, too and nice and thick.

Mine ar usually firm - but not crisp. One of the nice things about the recipe it is the cookie stays firm and does not get cakey-soft after the first day or so, They are my sister in law's favorite cookie thumbs_up.gif
