I have a lady who wants a white cake but wants me to add some type of flavoring, she's not real crazy about almond or lemon, soooo I was thinking about using Bavarian Creme. I have never used this to flavor a cake and have read some people like it and some don't. I will be using a box mix with the cake mix extender and wanted opinons on what you all thought. TIA for your thoughts on thisicon_smile.gif

HI!

I use bavarian cream as a filling between or in my torted cakes. Do you have and cake supply shops around. There are some great oils that are available. They are for flavoring candy but are amazing in cakes. One of the best is champagne. It is deliciouse, I believe they are by Lorainne.

I have not added the bavarian to my cake itslef, it is pretty thick, not too sure how that would bake, Sorry

If you are going to use the Lorann Bavarian Creme oil with the cake mix extender, I recently did the same thing with the banana oil, and I was not really very happy with the result. It seemed to really intensifiy the sweetness of the cake, and the result, combined with the Wilton buttercream recipe, was that no one, not even the kids, could handle the sweetness of the cake. It was too much. I am not sure if this was just the added flavoring - I think it was the whole package, but I think the Lorann oil contributed. Hope this helps!! KM
