Hi, I've been lurking around for a few months and recently started to open up (I just posted my first pics a few days ago) I LOVE decorating cakes.....it has been the most structure and best creative outlet I've had in my life in the past 10 months....since my son was born.

My question is regarding the storage of un-iced cake.

How long can you keep a cake wrapped up in the refrigerator before decorating....and how long can you keep it in the freezer? I've been using boxed mixes.

Any advice and info. would be great. Oh, by the way.....everyone's cakes on this website ROCKS....there is sooooo much amazing talent here! icon_lol.gif

Welcome to CC!!!!!!!! First off, I LOVE YOUR ZOO CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! How adorable! I'll bet he loved it!! icon_wink.gif

I use boxed mixes too. I bake, cool and freeze in the same day. Just be sure to wrap them good. I don't like to freeze mine more than a couple weeks. I have refrigerated a cake for a day and decorated the next day and it turned out fine. hope this helps!!! thumbs_up.gif
