Does anyone have instructions or know how to do plumeria flowers in buttercream? I'm doing wedding cupcakes in Hawaii and would love to decorate a few special ones with plumeria if possible. I can imagine this might be fairly simple with fondant or gumpaste, but the challenge for you CC members is to do in BC...
Here is a few pics to reference:

I'm guessing a some color-striping will be in order, probably with two colors of BC in the bag, vs. striping the bag might be too harsh.
These are pretty similar to the drop-and-twist basic flowers I learned in Wilton I, but just hoping for a little bit more sophistication and also bigger size.
TIA!

How about using the lily nail, and royal icing. Use the same method as for an apple blossom or primrose?

I'm interested too, and this is one way I'd try to make them.

Good luck!

amanda, do you have pics of yours in fondant? i'd love to see how that turned out.

kris, i will look in my wilton books to see the apple blossom or primroses. i failed to mention, i've only taken wilton I so my flower-making skills are not the best, but i bought all the course books one day and like to try them out sometimes.

the reason i'd like to do in BC is because i'll be doing EVERYTHING in Hawaii, and would like to keep everything pretty basic as far as supplies i am bringing and recipies i need to make there (not the most elaborate set-up i'll have there icon_smile.gif

I would imagine that you would need to do them in royal. You know, if you can't find a way to do them in BC, I am sure there are silk ones you could use in Hawaii. Good luck!!!!!

I just remembered something....

You could make them ahead of time, in BC, and freeze them. I've read other people's comments about this.

Only thing is, when you take them out of the freezer, you have to work REALLY fast when placing them on the cake.

Hope this gives you another option icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck!
PS. those ARE beautiful flowers! icon_biggrin.gif

The picture is the square wedding cake in my photos; I haven't figured out how to post one to the forum yet.
