Decorating By thin4life Updated 30 Apr 2005 , 2:35am by ilithiya
There is a lady on ebay selling this course written by McKinley Wilton, does anyone know anything about this course and is it worth the $27 she is selling it for?
Hi! I have never heard the name before and I would be afraid to purchase someone that I don't know any thing about. I would read the fine prints and make sure you know all that you are getting before you purchase the course. I have heard of Wilton Cake Decorating courses, which begins with course I, II, and III. I hope was of some help. You can also check on the seller of e-bay how he/she has their ratings. The higher the ratings, the better reputation the seller has. Also, check to see how their customer's satifactory ratings are, this way you know what you are dealing with.

McKinley Wilton is one of the Wilton founder's sons, and
Norman Wilton's brother. He's the one that did the Wonderland of Cake Decorating and Pictorial Encyc of Modern Cake Dec books. (Likely to have been named for their father, Dewey McKinley Wilton).
I wouldn't buy it. There's nothing that any of the Wiltons haven't published in some format or another - this was their business, after all, and you can't make money from something that you keep hidden. It's entirely likely that it's lifted from the older 1950s-70s publications that are getting harder to find nowadays.
Those photographs in the auction place it in 1969-1975. The decorating style and photographic tint/color/film blahblah points it to that time span. (I have the 3 vol Encyc and two other 1970s books.)
I suspect it's a scan of one of their hardbounds from that time period.
