I posted this on another board and didn't get any response so I thought I would give it a try here.

I am making a cake for a 31 year anniversary.

I saw over on the galleries some parchment scrolls. I thought maybe I could make one out of gumpaste. Then pipe writing on it with royal and paint the royal with gold luster dust.

Can I paint the letter with dry dust or does it always have to be wet?

What do you think about makin the scroll out of gumpaste? I would be relatively small maybe 6x6 size with just some rolling of the sides. I am guessing I would stick a dowel or something to hold it up and curled until it dries.

Any tips would be appreciated.
