How did you get it? I am in the process of trying to map out a plan of attack to start my business. First things first are the business cards. I have an idea of what kind of logo that I want but I don't know how I can find someone to bring to paper what ideas I have in my head or what site I can go to to try and put one together. Can anyone tell me how they came up with their logo and how they got it wheter it was via a business in your area over the internet an artistic friend. All of your help will be greatly appreciatied. Thanks
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW TO, I AM ALSO TRYING TO GET ALL MY DUCKS IN A ROW, SO WHEN MY LITTLE ONE STARTS SCHOOL I CAN GO FULL BLAST ON "MY BUSINESS" I AM TAKING ALL THE DECORATING AND BUSINESS CLASSES I CAN RIGHT NOW.
I was a Graphic Designer before I became a SAHM and I think a lot of GD charge around $500 flat fee for a simple logo. You might check around your area at schools and see if you can get a GD student to help you out for a lot cheaper. Just call the head of the GD department and give them your email address. You will probably have people fighting over you! Have them email you a few samples and pick who you want. It would really be pretty easy...you probably wouldn't ever even meet them, just through email, maybe a phone call.
I used a software program called Paint Shop Pro. There are numorous tutorials online if you do a google search such as "PSP logo tutorials" or similair. So if you have a program like that, you could fiddle around with it yourself!

Robyn - does this program allow you to make your own designs "from scratch" or does it let you modify things that are in it's clip art?
thanks!
You can make your own things from scratch, I believe its called pixel drawing. It's very tedious (in my opinion) but yes, it is possible to do in this program. I use PSP for everything, picture editing, cake stuff, its great!
Hi all
I simply picked out my favorite cake photo and added it to my business card set up. Then I searched for a nice font in a different color. Sometimes, simple is best.
Good luck

I am lucky to have a lot of artist friends. My sister is an architect and my cousin a seasoned painter and graphic designer, one of my best friends an amazing artist. When it comes time to make my logo Im going to these ladies. I think bartering is the best thing in the world and this is how I have been doing things up til now.

I just made business cards too. I had been trying to decide on a name and had ideas but nothing that got me, but last week one morning I woke up and had the name, then I created a logo with that name and made business cards. I work at a print shop, so I got them pretty cheap I made up a 2 part NCR form to for ordres and delivery of the cake. Good luck and happy dreaming.
