Hi Charmed,
I have done this before, and all you really need to change is to make sure that you use some sort of heating core. Because the cake is so deep that you will crisp the outside and your inside will be under-cooked without one.
Wilton sells a heating core here (thier site is being updated right now, so this link might tak you to the home page, but try again later)
Or, if you have any metal flower nails, simply use the "cake release" or grease and flour it the same way you would your cake pan or bowl in this instance.
Then place it in the center of the bowl on its head (so the nail is pointing towards the sky), then pour your batter in as you normally would.
Also, another tip, is to lower your cooking tempurature to around 325 - 330. And add an additional 10 -30 minutes of cooking time. This will give the center of the cake more time to fully cook without totally crisping the outside.

When doing this make sure you make a round cake of somekind for under the bowl is not going to be enough if your going to use the full Barbie if your going to use the pick then your going to be fine..
Make sure that you grease the whole bowl with I use Pam Spray... Then make sure you have a heating core .... Place the mix in to the bowl and make sure that you leave some room for the cake to grow... Put it in the oven at 325 degrese for 1 hour test to make sure that the cake test done.
In useing the bowl your going to have a more round cake then using the Wonder Mold Pan from Wilton they are still really cute .... I have done a few if you would like to see them they are .. Under 1998 and 2001 these both are done with a bowl..
