I'm trying to mold some chocolate dog bones to add to a cake. I used candy melts, melted them and poured into molds. The chocolate set, but I can't get them out without breaking them. Should I be adding anything to the melts or spraying the mold with anything?
Thanks

Did you try to put the mold in the freezer? the chocolate will pop out of the mold very easy.

I usually put my molds in the fridge for about 15 minutes and they pop right out. Hope it helps.

sometimes, if you "flex" the mold back and forth a little, it loosens the candy inside enough for it to pop out....

Try flicking the back of the mold with your fingers. Although I usually don't have a problem if I pop them into the freezer (watch carefully so they don't crack) and then flexing the mold.

Make sure they are dry before you fill them- I found this out the hard way- I washed mine, and didn't dry them completely before putting candy melts in, and they stuck also- even after sticking them in the fridge. I put them in the fridge now, and it works like a charm!

Yes, freezer is the way to get them to set up. But let me ask, is it a thin mold? There are some molds that just don't set up properly cause they are not deep enough. But a dog bone one sounds like it should be deep.

After you have popped them in the freezer for a few minutes and they are well set lay a kitchen towel on the counter folded over and turn your mold over and wap it down on the towel. Don't be shy about this part! They should pop right out!
Don't spray your molds with anything or wash with soap!
