I am making cupcakes from one of my cake recipes. Do I bake them for as long as I bake the cake or does it take longer or shorter time?

In my experience, shorter. Since I always neglect to write things down...With the first batch that goes in the oven, I usually set the timer for 15 minutes and start keeping a close eye out for them. Because of the difference of density of the batter, I can have a 4-5 minute difference if I am making say a chocolate (heavier) vs. yellow. One minute too long can be the end of your pan though, so watch closely!
