I am starting my search for a LK and I want to have all my ducks in a row so to speak before I start calling these places. I live in AZ and I just have to rent a LK to bake in and I can decorate at home. I have all the information to get my business license with the state and city as well as my food handlers license. I have heard that some kitchens want you to have your own liability insurance. Can I get this insurance through a regular insurance company? Does anyone currently have business insurance? What are your premiums? Any other information you can give me would be great!!
Thanks,
Thena

I have $2 mil liability through Hartford. I pay $350 per year. Covers me for accidents, if I break anything at the church and if someone tries to sue me. I had a quote from the company when i went to the church, but I did not start it until we had a contract because the ins co needed the address of the place. Brought in the rider to the contract signing at the church.

Good luck,

Julia

Hartford is one of the most experienced with food related insurance. I have a catering policy in my own commercial kitchen. $500/year.
