I have gotten some butter rum lorann oil. I was thinking of adding it to my bc on today's cake.
What type of cake do you think would go best?

I have used it with a butter cake, yellow cake and a butter pecan... It was very yummy!
I would agree with Florimbio, butter or yellow cake would be best.
I've used rum flavour with yellow cake and always get great reviews.

Yes, you only need a few drops, it's very strong. You can even buy the little eye droppers to use with those bottles.
OMGosh! The last ( and only) time i used the butter rum oil, I didn't realize how strong it was and I ruined a whole recipe of ganche!
I'd recommend adding and waiting quite some time before making your final decision. I just made an ice cream cake this weekend and flavored my vanilla ice cream w/ Loran bubble gum flavoring (went on to tint it blue and add BG balls). Anyhow, the next day, the ice cream was about 3x as potent as the night before when I made it. Lesson learned - it got stronger with time.
