Hi all,
I was just wondering if I can make candy clay without the wilton candy?
I can't buy it easily here and wondered if I can replace it with some other type of chocolate as that is kinda what it sounds like it's made of???
Many Thanks

You can use any kind of "candy coating" sometimes it's called almond bark. Wilton isn't the only one who makes it. You could even try it with chocolate chips and see how that works. Just melt the "chocolate" slow and easy. It gets all seized up and grainy looking when you first add the corn syrup, but the more you work it the better it starts to feel. Play around with it and have fun! Even if it doesn't look great, your experiment should taste great!!!

Not sure if you are in Canada or elsewhere but I buy the candy melts from our Bulk Barn....same as Wilton's only much cheaper and you bag/pay for what you want. They have most of the various colours too.

Mercken's makes the same things... sometimes called summer coating...

You can make it from real chocolate, but it's a little more temperamental (but tastier!)
