You can quote what other people have said about your cakes. Let other's do the bragging icon_smile.gif and/or include example cakes in the brochure and let the pics do the talking. Your cakes are really fantastic.

Use alot of pictures in your brochure. People shop with their eyes! I just did two "gratis" cakes. One for a kick off of a political campaign. I received three more orders from people that day and he is going to have it on his website. Great return on that time investment!

Maybe you could offer a small discount off the first cake they order.

With your great 3-d cakes pictured, you could write your philosophy about cake, whatever that might be and add some testimonials.
an example of a caption...."let your imagination go wild, I can work with you to build the perfect cake for that special occation" and then have your 3-d cakes pictured to let your customers know there is no such thing as a traditional cake coming out of your kitchen, each one is special!

Hey Mudder!

First of all, relax, it's just a brochure. If you specialize in 3D cakes, you've surely got more than enough talent and creativity to put a few words together.

Everyone's advice so far is right-on: Let pictures of your cakes and your customers do the talking. Don't worry so much about flowery descriptive copy - just use a good photo with a mention of the flavors/fillings/frostings.

The key - since you like to do 3-D cakes - is to spark readers' imaginations with what you might be able to do for them that no one else can. So in addition to cakes you've done - suggest some cakes that you could do.

Example: "Need a Salmon-shaped cake for that special fisherman? How about a Cradle cake for the Mother-to-be? Or a Cactus cake to spice up a festive fiesta?"

Okay, that's a bad example. But you get the idea. I hope this helps.

Take Care & Good Luck!

just looked at your photos and had to tell you mudder, that you do amazing work....I agree with everyone else - use lots of pics. Once someone sees what you can do, they'll have a hard time turning you down. Good Luck! icon_biggrin.gif
