Yellow Cake Recipes?? Why Is It So Hard To Find Them??
Baking By SJerseyMommy Updated 25 Apr 2006 , 4:45pm by lcdmarie
I've been searching all over for a good yellow cake recipe and I have yet to find one. Up until this point I've used DH butter recipe. I'm wondering why recipes for this kind of cake are so rare??
And does anyone have a good one??

I was looking at that also and comparing it to white cake... it seems the only difference is that yellow cake has the yolks and whites and white cake only has egg whites, no yolks.
If you prefer to make a cake from a mix, try this one.
1 pkg (2 layer size - I use Duncan Hines) Yellow cake mix
1 vanilla instant pudding mix, 4 serving size
1 cup whole milk
1 cup Crisco oil
4 large eggs
Blend ingredients for about 1 minute on low then 2 minutes on medium, scraping sides of bowl often. Bake for around the regular time frame, but at 325F.. I found I had to increase the time considerably - probably because of the amount of oil in the liquids. This makes a spongey type of cake, really moist though and good.
Recipe based on Bunnywoman's recipe!

My favorite yellow recipe is The Best Birthday Cupcakes from the CMD Cupcake Book.
It starts with a Butter Recipe cake mix and you just add cream cheese, sugar, water, oil, eggs, and vanilla. It's super simple and delicious!
