Hello everyone...I have a problem. I went to the store yesterday to purchase some DH white cake mix and they were all out. The shipment want be in time for a cake that is due on Saturday. Living in Naples, Italy...I don't have very many choices. So I had to purchase some Pillsbury mix. I have never used pillsbury so I hope it is as moist as DH......

My question is how many extra eggs do I add to a cake mix when you add pudding. It states on the outside of the Pillsbury cake box to add pudding for an moist cake. However, it doesn't say whatelse to add.

With the DH mix if you add pudding it tells you to add 1 extra egg.

edited to say: I believe the Pillsbury already has pudding in the mix.

Hello ladies....and thanks for your help. I looked at the Pillsbury box and it doesn't say that pudding is in the box. It just states that if you would like an extra moist cake add one cup of pudding. I hope that means add one box.....I'm not sure.....I am so frustrated because they were out of DH.... ok, I will add an extra egg.....

I got a recipe on this site from someone (I can't remeber who) but they said if you add a box of pudding to add 1 egg and 1 cup of milk.

Just wanted to clarify about the pudding in the mix. I have a package of Pillsbury and it says on the front of the box, 1 cup of pudding in the mix. Meaning there is one cup of pudding already in the mix.

I've been just dumping in one box of pudding into whatever mix I happen to have, pudding or not. So far, it's been fine. I haven't had any problems and they do taste good. Knock on wood!

I use BC mixes and they have pudding in them I just add 1 box per 2 cake mixes. NO extra water or oil but I do use Jumbo eggs instead of what the cake mix says.
Never had a problem and cakes are very yummy and moist.

I have heard lots of people say they use the pudding box regardless of what the cake box says is already in it.

CONNIEB, do you add the milk INSTEAD of any thing else, or just ALSO?

Also if you are making a true WHITE cake be sure to use white chocolate pudding (if the color is an issue) as I have noticed that vanilla puddings will make your white cake turn yellow!

You add the milk and egg also, along with all your other stuff if you add a box of pudding to the mix!
