Is there a way to get butter cream to look gold and or silver.
I have to make a blue power ranger cake next week and the picture I have shows that the belt has a silver buckle and the cuffs are gold... any help would be appreciated!

THANKS

I know you can use Luster Dust on a crusting Butter Cream...

you can use the luster dust on Butter Cream but you have to be very gentle....using a blush brush or something like that to gently brush it on dry onto the BC...I think it might be easier to just make a little MMF and then cut it to the shape and paint it with extract mixed with the luster dust....then it will look like REAL gold and silver....when you brush the luster dust on the Bc it will make it shiny but not look like real metal and I'm not sure you could do it that well with a small detailed area!

Has anyone used the wilton gold or silver dust on royal icing? I need to do crosses on communion cookies and will be using royal icing. What if I mixed the gold with the royal before piping.....think that would work?

you can paint it right on dry royal icing with great results!! I mix mine with lemon extract and paint it on.
