the Artisan has a 325-watt motor and the Accolade has a 400-watt motor
i would love the purple Artisan (my fave color) but for 10 dollars more i can get the bigger motor.

any thoughts on motor wattage? dose it make that big of a difference? i do want to be able to make my cookie doughs in it.

I have an Artisan and I love it! It's powerful enough for me to make anythign in it - from icing (beatign 10 mnutes or more) to bread dough to cookie dough. I've never had a problem.

I LOVE the tilting head on it. That's the only reason I haven't "traded in" for a 6qt. model. They don't make the 6qt with a tilting head.

I'm sure you'll love either one you get!

I have the Artisan, too. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It does everything I need it to do, from large batches of cookie dough to large batches of royal or BC icing. I've used it for making MMF, and it was fine, no bogging down or anything. I DO prefer to make my MMF by hand, though.

Okay, I posted before that I had the 5 qt...but I must have the 6 qt b/c I don't have a tilting head, and I have to say...that drives me NUTS!

I do love my artisan, though...

I have an Artisan and I LOVE IT!!! Never have a problem mixing anything in it. I've had it a few years now and have never had a problem with it.

I just bought an Artisan today. It's beautiful and pink. I just had to use it as soon as it came out of the box. What a differance from my terrible sunbeam mixer.

Hey, threre's nothing to laugh at...I got my Artisan for Christmas 04 and you'd have thought my husband had given me a diamond mine! Love the tilting head, love the locking bowl, love the high speed and even love that it's white. You have to understand I came from a handheld mixer...
